Jio-bp partnership establishes 500th EV charging station in BKC, Mumbai
The 500th Jio-bp pulse EV-charging station was inaugurated on Friday at the Jio World Centre (JWC) in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) by the Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Anant Mukesh Ambani and the CEO of bp, Murray Auchincloss. This marks a milestone for the company to bring Jio-bp's charging network to 5,000 sites across India, cementing its position as a leader in the electric vehicle (EV) charging industry.
The newly opened station improves visitors' access to the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, Jio World Plaza, and the Jio World Convention Centre. Jio-bp has had notable development in the last year, expanding its network from 1,300 to 5,000 stations, with a substantial 95% of them being fast-charging, the most in the industry.
"We are pioneering the acceleration of EV adoption in India with the largest network share of fast-charging stations and unmatched reliability," citing Anant M. Ambani, India Today reported. Jio-bp was also the first to deploy modern 480 KW chargers, which provide efficient charging experiences in a variety of settings like malls, hotels, and public parks.
The charging infrastructure seeks to reduce range anxiety and charging times, which is further aided by the unique Jio-bp pulse charging software. Jio-bp is devoted to fostering sustainable green transportation by utilising solar power from Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited's solar facilities.
Underlining the partnership's goal, Murray Auchincloss stated, "By combining bp and RIL's capabilities, we are delivering EV charging with convenience, creating a unique value proposition for customers," the report read further.
