EV
battery industry based in Jakkur, Bengaluru, has opened the nation's first commercial lithium-ion cell production plant. The new EV call manufacturing line will produce LTO and LFP cells and initially has a 50 MWh capacity. The new production line can produce large form factor cylindrical cells in the 22 Series to 66 Series range. According to Log9's five-year cell manufacturing timeline, the LTO TIB cells will help reduce carbon emissions by 90T per vehicle for a total annual CO2 reduction of 147 KT.
Dr. Akshay Singhal, co-founder and CEO of Log9 Materials spoke at the occasion and stated, "We are extremely proud to commission India's first commercial Li-ion cell production line on the second Day Zero. We take this opportunity to inform you that Log has installed about 3000 batteries in electric vehicles that have traveled approximately 5.5 million kilometers. Additionally, Log has increased its presence in more than 20 cities around the nation, including Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, etc.
