Honda wins 2025 Red Dot Design Awards: EV Fun, EV Urban, Fastport eQuad bags honour
Honda has bagged multiple honours at the 2025 Red Dot Design Awards with its Fastport eQuad securing the Best of the Best title in the Design Concept category. In addition, the company’s EV Fun Concept and EV Urban Concept both got the recognition of Red Dot winners.
The Red Dot Award, often equated with the Oscars, but for the design world, is an international award given as proof of quality for good design and sophisticated yet practical engineering.
The EV Fun and EV urban, introduced at the Milan Motor Show, were Honda’s earlier-staged electric two-wheeler concepts. Honda’s first electric bike, the EV fun concept, scheduled to go into manufacturing stage, is expected to feature a fixed battery, a slim and manoeuvrable frame and a mid-powered terrain with a minimalist design.
Meanwhile, the Fastport eQuad, winner of the Best of the Best title in the Design category, is a single-rider electric delivery vehicle designed from the bottom up. It combines pedal-assist electric propulsion with an ingenious pedal-by-wire system, which transmits the rider's input electronically to power the wheels, and is made to run in bike lanes. The translucent cargo box and glass windshield equipped in the vehicle are designed to improve visibility for nearby pedestrians and the rider while lowering visual weight.
As per the reports, the company is expected to start the production of Fastport eQuad in the US by the summer of 2026.
