High-speed EV charging at UP International Trade Show: NPCL and GNIDA establish 3 new charging stations
The upcoming UP International Trade Show (UPTIS) 2025, scheduled to be held from Sept.25 at Greater Noida, will have three EV charging stations for the convenience of the attendees.
The charging station will be established at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, under a joint effort by the Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) and Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA).
The new EV charging stations at Alpha-1 (near Samrat Mihir Bhoj Park/City Park), KP-2 (near India Expo Mart), and KP-3 (near Sharda Hospital) have six charging points with 120 kW and 60 kW fast chargers.
The charging station can charge 12 vehicles at once, ensuring efficiency for the crowd.
Earlier, on Sept.12, under a directive, GNIDA demanded completion by Sept.22. In close collaboration with service providers M/s Roadgrid India Pvt Ltd and M/s Digiron India Pvt Ltd, the NPCL mobilised its resources and experience, and within 10 days, all three stations with a combined capacity of 540 kW were operating.
In just 30 minutes, a four-wheeler EV battery can be charged from 20% to 80%, providing both individuals and businesses with a rapid turnaround.
Moreover, with the lowest tariff in Greater Noida, charging facilities are reasonably priced at ₹17 + GST per unit. Meanwhile, to promote wider adoption and usage, the business also intends to integrate EV charging services with its digital payment platforms and invoicing system, making them easily accessible to more than two lakh NPCL customers.
Under the partnership, GNIDA was responsible for providing the land on a 10-year concession and the NPCL was given the responsibility of developing the infrastructure
In the future, NPCL and GNIDA aim to expand the network by adding smart load management, renewable energy integration, and higher-capacity chargers (up to 240 kW). For EV customers in Greater Noida, these upcoming improvements aim to provide better, quicker, and more environmentally friendly charging options.
