Hero’s Record-Breaking Electric Scooter Gets a Massive Range Upgrade: Meet the Vida VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh
he Vida VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh has been launched at an effective ex-showroom price of ₹1,43,990 in New Delhi (inclusive of applicable state incentives). Without subsidies, the scooter sits at around ₹1.51 lakh.
Hero is also offering a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription model. This allows buyers to purchase the scooter at a significantly lower upfront cost and pay a separate subscription fee for battery usage. Deliveries across India are slated to begin by the end of July 2026.
Bigger Battery, Massive 187 km Range
The biggest selling point of the new VX2 Plus is its battery architecture. It features a high-capacity 4.4 kWh battery pack, made up of two removable 2.2 kWh lithium-ion units. This dual-removable setup is a massive advantage for apartment residents, allowing them to carry the batteries indoors for easy charging.
Thanks to the larger capacity, the scooter achieves an IDC-certified range of 187 km on a single charge—a significant 41 km jump over the 3.4 kWh variant. In real-world urban commuting (Eco mode), riders can expect a highly usable range of around 140 km.sage. Deliveries across India are slated to begin by the end of July 2026.

For riders on the go, the scooter supports DC fast charging, taking the battery from 0 to 80% in just 65 minutes at compatible stations.

Despite the larger battery pack, Hero has managed to retain the scooter's massive 27.2-litre under-seat storage, ensuring practicality isn't compromised.

The scooter completed a gruelling 12,111 km cross-country endurance run over 52 consecutive days, establishing the record for the Longest Journey by an Electric Scooter.
