HCLTech join hands with ChargePoint to boost EV charging tech
In an effort to boost innovation in EV charging software, IT services firm HCL Technologies (HCLTech) said on Thursday that it has decided to partner with ChargePoint, a supplier of networked charging solutions for electric vehicles.
HCLTech has established a state-of-the-art research and development facility for ChargePoint in Bengaluru, a press statement stated.
The centre will act as the focal point for ChargePoint's software development activities in India and was opened on Thursday by executives from both businesses.
It seeks to assist ChargePoint in providing scalable and configurable EV charging experiences by utilising HCLTech's technical expertise through an agile, product-focused operating model.
"India has long been vital to our success, and this is a critical region for our software development. We aim to recruit the brightest talent for this new facility, developing the products which will shape the future of our industry," citing Rick Wilmer, CEO of ChargePoint, Business Standard reported.
Chargepoint's innovation approach will benefit from HCLTech's engineering talents and extensive portfolio, according to Ajay Bahl, Chief Growth Officer, Americas, Manufacturing and Allied Industries.
