Greaves Electric Mobility’s Ampere Two-Wheelers Achieve 53% YoY Growth in January

Greaves Electric Mobility Limited (GEML) has sold 3,611 units, securing the fifth-place ranking among India’s top-selling electric two-wheeler brands, the Vahan portal reported.

Greaves, the e-mobility arm of Greaves Cotton Limited, has recorded a 53% year-over-year growth while maintaining a 27% month-over-month growth, a press release by the company read. The sales are reported to be driven by the company’s premium family electric scooters, Nexus and Magnus Neo. 

Moreover, the overall retail growth for Ampere, including slow-speed vehicles, surged by 38% MoM, surpassing the industry average.

Magnus Neo and Nexus

The Magnus Neo is an upgraded version of the Ampere Magnus which features LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery technology, providing a top speed of 65kmph and a claimed range of 100+ km. The vehicle can be completely charged in 5-6 hours and features a more than standard battery warranty for 5 years or 75,000 km whichever is earlier.

Additionally, the company’s Nexus family scooter, introduced in 2024, provides a top speed of 93 kmph and can travel a distance of 136 km on a single charge.

Three-wheeler segment

Meanwhile, the company has also marked a 52% MoM growth in the electric three-wheeler market through its subsidiary company MLR Auto Limited by selling 665 L5 three-wheeler units.

Furthermore, Ele, another subsidiary focusing on e-rickshaws, experienced a 21% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) growth in the Uttar Pradesh market.
