Evfy establishes its first EV charging station in Delhi NCR
EVFY, an electric automotive solutions startup, has joined the EV charging infrastructure sector by establishing its first electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Sector 73, Gurgaon, Delhi-NCR.
This is the company’s first of 100 planned charging stations in the area, aimed to boost India's electric mobility expansion. The charging station, located at The One, Sales Gallery, Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), has dual gun capability, a digital display with RFID for user engagement and security, and power outputs of 120 kW, 60 kW, and 7.4 kW respectively. These features of the station are expected to support a wide range of EV models, including two-, three-, and four-wheelers.
India's public EV charging infrastructure has expanded significantly, rising from 1,800 stations in February 2022 to 16,347 by March 2024. With forecasts predicting that over 50 million EVs will be on the road by 2030, the need for charging stations is likely to grow significantly.
Shikhar Yadav, the founder of EVFY, intends to add more locations to his charging network such as Dwarka Motorway, Airport Area and New Gurgaon. Additionally, the company claims to install ultra-fast chargers with a power output of 150 kW along with hyper-fast ones at 350 kW in future.
The company is also seeking partnerships with EV manufacturers and plans to work together with real estate developers and housing societies to expand its network. Hritik Sharma, co-founder of EVFY said that their aim is to make ownership and charging of electric vehicles easier so as to increase usage throughout India. Furthermore, EVFY is set to introduce an app that will assist in accessing their EV charging stations while aiding the switch towards electric transport systems.
