EV Charger War Begins! EVERTA Aims for 15% Market Share with New ‘Make in India’ DC Charging Factory
In a strategic move set to reshape India’s EV infrastructure landscape, EVERTA has officially launched its DC charger manufacturing operations in Bengaluru. This marks a significant step toward localising EV charging tech under the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
3000 DC Chargers Annually by 2027
The company has ambitious plans to roll out 3,000 fast DC chargers per year by 2027, aiming for 15% of India’s DC charging market by 2030. These chargers will range from 60kW to 320kW and above, serving everything from e-3-wheelers and passenger EVs to buses and long-haul trucks.
Local Manufacturing with Global Tech
EVERTA’s new facility in Bengaluru, operational from Q3 2025, will initially achieve 50% domestic value addition, with full localization on the roadmap. Backed by a technology licensing partnership with StarCharge—a global player with 2 million+ EV chargers across 60 countries—the move brings international standards to Indian soil.
Jobs, Growth, and Green Goals
The plant is expected to create 400–450 direct and indirect jobs, spanning manufacturing, deployment, and service. More importantly, EVERTA’s expansion could power up to 4 million electric vehicles on Indian roads, accelerating progress toward the government’s 30% EV adoption target by 2030.
Leadership Speaks
“We’re committed to building chargers that work best for Indian conditions,”
said Benny Parihar, Managing Director of EVERTA.
“Uptime, support, and service define our charger DNA,”
added Manasvi Sharma, CEO.
Why This Matters for India’s EV Ecosystem
India is racing toward an EV future, but the charging infrastructure remains a bottleneck. As passenger and commercial EV sales soar, the demand for high-performance, reliable, and localised fast chargers has never been greater.
EVERTA’s entry offers several key advantages:
- Fast-charging solutions suited for long-haul logistics and urban fleets
- Reduced import dependency for EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment)
- Scalable manufacturing aligned with national EV goals
- Collaborative model with charge point operators and fleet owners
EVINDIA Take: Game-Changer in the Charging Race?
EVERTA isn't just entering the market — it’s taking aim at the top. With backing from global expertise, a strong domestic manufacturing plan, and a laser focus on service reliability, the company could challenge legacy EV charger brands and redefine India's EVSE ecosystem.
If executed well, EVERTA’s model could be the blueprint for India’s next wave of EV infrastructure growth.
