EV Bazaar 2024: Zomato aims to achieve 100% deliveries via EV by 2030
To achieve 100% deliveries through electric vehicles(EV) by 2030, Zomato organised EV Bazaar 2024 on Monday at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi.
The event underlined EV’s advantages which can aid delivery partners in their daily endeavours. The event also guided delivery partners to pick up the right vehicle for them by using the insights from dominant industry stakeholders like EV 2W OEMs, charge point providers, fleet operators, and financing experts such as Kinetic Green, Quantum Energy, Bounce Infinity, TVS, Lectrix, Hero, Ola, Ampere, Alt Mobility, Battfit, Battfit, Zypp, Yulu, Moving Urban Technologies and Kadam Mobility.
The event, graced by the presence of Chief Guest Shri Kailash Gahlot, Minister of Transport, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, invited key stakeholders from throughout the EV ecosystem to discuss the latest innovations and trends in the electric two-wheeler EV segment.
Moreover, Akshima Ghate, MD, RMI India, and Karthik Ganesan, Director, CEEW, were also the guests of honour. The event by Zomato overlaps with the Delhi government's vision to make Delhi “the EV capital” through various plans like the 2023 Motor Vehicle Aggregator and Delivery Service Provider Scheme and the Delhi EV Policy.
At the event, Zomato unveiled its proprietary EV Portal, a technology meant to improve operational efficiency by allowing faster reaction times and vehicle allocation from EV deployment participants. It enables EV deployers to reach out to interested delivery partners and rent out their EVs while properly controlling the EV inventory deployed for use by the delivery partner(s) onboarded with Zomato.
The event also included important awards and recognition for the top EV riding delivery partners who received free EVs from Kinetic Green and Quantum. The Zomato team also exhibited EV-focused films to help its delivery network switch to EVs more smoothly.
The EV Bazaar also consisted of a series of demonstrating workshops attended by over 1000 Zomato and Blinkit delivery partners. After the keynote address, Abhishek Dwivedi, Business Head- EV, Zomato discussed the commitment taken up by Zomato to accelerate the adoption of EVs into the Zomato and Blinkit delivery fleets to achieve the sustainable mission much before 2030. The day saw presentations on the benefits of EVs, financing alternatives from NBFC and interaction with OEM booths. The event concluded with the delivery partners participating in test drives to study the capabilities of EVs, thus having hands-on experience with them.
