Commerce Forever and Wo GreenTech to launch EV-based last-mile delivery

Commerce Forever and Wo GreenTech have joined hands to provide electric vehicles for last-mile deliveries throughout Delhi NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and nearby locations, the Economic Times reported. The memorandum of understanding provides a framework to deploy around 1,500 and 2,500 electric two-wheelers into the delivery fleet of Commerce Forever.

In addition to lowering logistical costs and reducing 547 tonnes of CO2 emissions, the partnership is anticipated to boost rural employment and skill development. The two businesses will set up regional talent development centres as part of the understanding to instruct delivery staff on digital logistics systems, safety procedures, and EV handling.

The arrangement covers EV leasing as well as a combined investment in digital technologies that are intended to streamline operations. These will include real-time fleet monitoring tools, enhanced route planning tools, and tools for quicker onboarding.

Citing Manideep Katepalli, Managing Director, BikeWo GreenTech Ltd, ET reported, "This partnership is not limited to vehicle leasing for us, but we believe it's a holistic, technology-led approach to green commerce".

He further said, "We're merging clean mobility, digital logistics, and rural skilling into one impactful model. And also from a job creation and skill development perspective, the regional training centres will focus on delivery partners' training focused on rural areas, which is a significant step in job creation," ET reported.

Meanwhile, as per ET, Sanjay Kumar Gupta, Partner at Commerce Forever, said, "We're excited about this partnership.
