chargeMOD join hands with HPCL: India to get EV charging infra boost

The chargeMOD, a leading startup in electric vehicle charging solutions has announced joining hands with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd to offer EV drivers seamless access to all HPCL EV charging stations throughout the nation. 


After the update, the users will not require multiple accounts or apps and can easily locate and use charging stations set up by HPCL. Moreover, the OCPI (Open Charge Point Interface) technology has enabled users to roam across networks According to a press release, this relationship is a major turning point as chargeMOD could collaborate with a government agency to improve India's EV charging infrastructure.


Additionally, chargeMOD will install nearly 100 fast chargers at specific HPCL locations, increasing the number of high-speed charging choices. In addition, these fast chargers will drastically cut down charging times and improve the efficiency and usefulness of EV driving.


"We want to make EV charging quick and easy for everyone with OCPI roaming and fast charger deployment," stated M. Ramanunni, chargeMOD's co-founder and CEO.


To resolve customers' range anxiety, HPCL is establishing an EV charging network throughout India. By March 2025, HPCL plans to establish 2100 fast charging stations on important highways and in urban areas, adding to its current 4000+ charging stations.
