CEO: “Our range now spans across customers”: Ola announces S1 X (4khwr) &10,000 charging stations
Ola Electric announced the release of their new Ola S1X version on Thursday at the Ola event streamed live on YouTube.
The newly revealed version of their flagship electric scooter costs Rs 1,09,999 and has a 4 kWh battery. During the event, the business announced the initiation of pre-booking while promising delivery in April of this year.
Bhavish Aggarwal, the company's founder and CEO, also announced that the S1X (3kWh) model will be delivered starting in April.
Creating a new budget market for high-range EVs, The company offers the 2kwhr version of Ola S1X costs Rs 79,999, while the 3 kWh costs Rs 89,999 ex-showroom. Meanwhile, showing the fleet of EVs to the audience, Aggarwal stated, “Here is our range (of EVs), We are the only EV manufacturer with such a broad range of products for you.” He further said that Ola has achieved great heights in just three-year and the company still has much more to offer, while looking back at the journey he said “ “We have now stretched from Rs 79,999 to Rs 1,47,999 (products)”
The newly launched products are another step by the company to widen its potential customer base, Regarding the same, Aggarwal stated “Our range now spans across customer segments, somebody wants a low-cost scooter for short Urban short rides across the city, just to go around their colonies or just to go around their localities maybe dropping their kids to school and doing the grocery the 3x-2 kWhr is for you”
“There are people who need high-range, kids who go to college which are away from the city, Salespeople, marketing people in small towns, people who need to travel around the districts, X3 and X4 are for you. If you want to buy an X but have a little bit of extra Zing to it X Plus is for you. And then if you want to have a premium experience, especially around technology but want low or medium power, the S1 Air is for you and if you are the absolute uh expert who wants a performance uh scooter the S1 Pro remains Best-in-Class by far best in performance best in range best in design best in technology and the price.” he added.
Aggarwal also revealed an enhanced guarantee for Ola scooters at a live event, he stated that from the event onwards, all Ola scooters will have a warranty of eight years which can help the scooter travel almost 80,000 km. He said that as a result, Ola scooters will last twice as long as gasoline-powered scooters.
Regarding the EV sector, Aggarwal stated that there has been a huge shift since Ola introduced the Gen 1 S1 Pro, the company's first scooter, on August 15, 2021. While talking about maintenance, the CEO of Ola stated that since EVs require less maintenance than internal combustion engine vehicles, they require far less money.
By the next quarter, he also promised 10,000 charging points. Ola will continue to enhance its charging network, according to Aggarwal.
Features of the Ola S1X (4kWh)
The new model has a greater range of 190 km and the same peak speed of 90 km/h as the 3 kWh predecessor. Its 2.7kW/6kW motor promises to accelerate a vehicle from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.3 seconds. It boasts 34L of boot capacity and 6.5 hours of home charging time. It has a dual telescopic front suspension, dual shock rear suspension, drum brakes, a physical key, and a 4.3-inch instrument cluster. Along with a plethora of other features like cruise control and side stand alert, it boasts three driving modes: eco, sport, and regular. It lacks Bluetooth, audio, GPS, and hyper mode, the same as other S1X variants.
