BMW Group India records best-ever third quarter EV sales with 21% YoY growth

Recording a best-ever third-quarter sales, BMW India sold 4,204 electric cars, marking a year-on-year growth of 21% for the July-September quarter (Q3).

 

In the first nine months of the calendar year (January-September, the company sold 11,978 cars and 3.976 motorcycles. BMW sold 11,510 units and MINI 468 units.

As a positive effect of the new GST rates and the busy holiday season, the company also experienced its highest September sales.

 

In the last nine months, the company sold 2,509 EVs, recording a 246% growth, maintaining its position as the top luxury EV option in India.

 

Citing Hardeep Brer, President and CEO of BMW Group India, The Hindu reported, “The strong product offensive coupled with excellent after-sales services, personalised brand engagements and financial offers have spurred demand significantly”.

 

He said, “Our long-term strategy is aimed at successfully unlocking the potential of the luxury car market and increasing market share while maintaining the core of JOY and Sheer Driving Pleasure we promise. The order bank remains healthy, and we are confident of closing the year with best-ever sales once again,” the report added.
