Bigbasket, an online grocery store by Tata Enterprise, in partnership with Kazam, has decided to grow its electric vehicle delivery lineup by expanding into 50 cities.

Under the partnership, Kazam will provide its advanced EV infrastructure and fleet management systems. Meanwhile, with the update, Bigbasket will further reduce emissions throughout its supply chain.

By integrating these technologies, the business is expecting to control expenses through a centralised system, optimise driver performance, enhance delivery routes, and keep a tight eye on energy consumption.

According to TK Balakumar, Chief Operating Officer, bigbasket, Sustainability is not just a buzzword for the company but is “built into their DNA”. In addition, he said that the collaboration will enable the company “to scale with precision and integrate cutting-edge energy tech into the company’s supply chain.” The company has a goal to achieve 60% of it delivery fleet to be electric by 2030, according to Balakumar.

The bigbasket has already enabled more than 64 million green kilometres of delivery and managed more than 3.2 GWh of sustainable energy.
