Bengaluru airport gets ThunderPlus 1 MW ultra-fast charging hub for electric vehicles

Thunder Plus, an EV charging company, has unveiled its MegaWatt Ultra-Fast Charging Hub, with a total capacity of up to 1 MW, at Mutthugadahalli, near Bengaluru International Airport. The hub provides an extensive array of charging options—from 7.4 kW AC chargers to 240 kW DC ultra-fast chargers—making it one of the nation’s most advanced EV charging destinations.

The hub, spanning 28,000 sq. ft., can hold over 100 cars for park-and-charge and more than 10 buses at the same time, serving fleet operators, long-haul buses, cargo transporters, and EV drivers. According to the company, its strategic location makes it a vital connection point on intercity EV-ready highways, facilitating seamless links between Bengaluru and major cities.

The charging hub is the company’s second installation after its 1 MW facility in Hyderabad. In addition, the company is also planning to install its next EV charging hub at Kurnool to address long-distance EV travel challenges.

ThunderPlus aims to create a nationwide network of 1 MW charging stations, featuring ultra-fast chargers between 240 kW and 320 kW, which can recharge vehicles in less than 20 minutes.
