Bajaj to launch new EV-Chetak 3001?
Following the sale of 21,770 units in the previous month, Bajaj Auto may launch its entry-level second-generation electric scooter, reportedly named Chetak 3001, according to Financial Express.
Last month, Bajaj secured the runners-up position in terms of total sales, with TVS Motor (24,560 units) at the top and Ola Electric (8,499 units) at third.
As per the Financial Express, the most affordable model of the company, the 2903, may get replaced by the new Chetak 3001. However, Bajaj Auto has not yet confirmed this. In any case, it is anticipated that the new variation will increase Bajaj's sales figures. With a predicted top speed of 62 kmph, the new 3.1 kW electric motor is anticipated to power the Chetak 3001, which might feature a 3 kWh battery.
With a claimed range of 123 kilometres and a top speed of 63 kmph, the Chetak 2903 is equipped with a 2.9 kWh battery. It takes four hours to charge from 0% to 80%.
As per the report, Bajaj will keep the Chetaks' current proportions and iconic style intact. The Chetak 3001 will have dimensions of 1,914 mm in length, 1,143 mm in height, and 725 mm in breadth. The electric scooter may have 12-inch wheels up front and back and 168 mm of ground clearance.
Currently, the 2903 is Chetak's most economical trim, followed by the 3503, 3502, and the highest-end model, the 3501. The prices of the second-generation Chetak series are Rs 1.10 lakh for the 3503, Rs 1.22 lakh for the 3502, and Rs 1.34 lakh for the 3501. At the ex-showroom price, the Chetak 3001 is anticipated to cost approximately Rs 1 lakh.
