<p>The Department of Customs of Nepal, on Friday, &nbsp;has disclosed that the country has recorded an unprecedented import of electric four-wheelers during the first 11 months of the FY24- 25.</p>
<p>By the middle of June, the total import was 13,483, with 10,194 of those coming from China, or about 76% of all imports, the department reported.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, 11,701 EVs were imported nationwide in 2023&ndash;2024.</p>
<p>In recent years, Nepal has been promoting EVs because of its abundant hydropower, particularly during the monsoon season. By 2030, the country wants to see 90% of all private passenger vehicles and 70% of all public passenger vehicles, including two-wheelers, be EVs.</p>

<p dir="ltr">TI Clean Mobility of Murugappa Group is all set to fast-track the introduction of new electric vehicles to make a turnover of ₹1 billion within 4-5 years, citing the company&rsquo;s Managing Director, Jalaj Gupta, PTI reported on Friday.&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr">The company, on Friday, announced its entry into the three-wheeler cargo segment. Up till now, the company under the brand name of 'Montra Electric' sells heavy and small commercial vehicles, tractors and now passenger three-wheelers.</p>
<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p dir="ltr">Gupta said,&nbsp; "Our larger objective is to be a ₹ 1 billion turnover (firm) all put together... We are looking at a time frame of four to five years, FY29 or FY30, to achieve this," PTI reported.</p>

<p dir="ltr">&nbsp;According to him, the company's total revenue in FY25 was Rs 650 crore.</p>

<p>To expand the city&rsquo;s EV charging infrastructure, the Nashik Civic administration has established seven electric vehicle charging stations and plans to set up three more in the coming week, Times of India reported.</p>
<p>Planned to establish at different locations, the Civic administration intends to channelise Rs 10 crore from the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) to operationalise 20 electric vehicle charging stations in total.&nbsp;</p>
<p>A private company based in Delhi was appointed to set up these stations. Up till now, 7 stations have been established in the areas of Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, Pramod Mahajan Garden, Ambad Link Road, Satpur fire station, Krishi Nagar jogging track, Satpur divisional office and Mahatma Nagar cricket ground.</p>
<p>Citing civic officials, the report stated that three more EV charging stations will be set up at Ganeshwadi vegetable market, Amrutdham fire station in Panchavati, and B.D. Bhalekar ground. These charging points will be operational within a week and will utilise electricity from the state power utility, MSEDCL.</p>
<p>In addition, the TOI reported, the remaining 10 EV charging stations will be established at five divisional offices of NMC&ndash; Panchavati, Nashik Road, Nashik East and Nashik West.</p>
<p><br>Citing an official, TOI reported, "Besides, the EV charging stations are to be set up at Tapovan bus depot, Raje Sambhaji Stadium, Bytco Hospital in Nashik Road, Phalke Smarak and open NMC space in Lekha Nagar."&nbsp;</p>

To enable all-wheel drive on an electric vehicle, their future SUVs would need to be fitted with a dual-motor setup, where each axle is powered by a separate motor.
