200 Units sold: BYD initiates delivering EV seals
With the dispatch of its first 200 units, BYD India has started delivering its all-electric Sedan EV Seal. The Seal, which ranges in price from Rs 41 lakhs to Rs 53 lakhs (ex-showroom), is BYD's most costly EV to enter the Indian market. The electric vehicle (EV) was introduced in March 2024 and has since generated a lot of discussion due to its many features and potent dual-motor powertrain configuration at a comparatively cheaper cost.
Three months after it began accepting orders for the EV in late February 2024, the Chinese carmaker also recently said that the Seal has garnered over 1,000 bookings in the Indian market.
Nine airbags, traction control, ADS, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a motorised front seat with heating and ventilation, a 15.6-inch touchscreen, and dual-zone temperature control are among the standard features that the Seal comes equipped with. Higher-end models come equipped with adjustable dampers, a torque vectoring system, a driver seat memory feature, and a head-up display.
There are three different versions of the all-electric car available, with single and twin-motor powertrain choices. The car has two rear-wheel drive options: the standard Dynamic trim has an electric motor that produces 201 horsepower and 310 Nm, while the Premium trim has an even more potent 308 horsepower and 360 Nm unit. Performance trim, which is the highest specification, has two motors that produce a combined 523 horsepower and 670 Nm.
