Starting from Rs 60,000 only; Oben Electric Plans to Launch 4 New Electric Vehicles

On Sept 9th the people of the world came together to celebrate World EV Day, marking the fifth anniversary of the celebration from its beginning. Well, obviously it is not a Diwali, Christmas or Thanksgiving, but the very existence of this day is based on the need to adopt a cleaner and greener commute option worldwide. One can say that this initiative is really showing its colours, as to push EV adoption further beyond, an Indian electric two-wheeler company Oben Electric has decided to push for “EV inclusivity”. The company has announced its plans to launch 4 new electric two-wheelers in the upcoming six months starting from an unprecedented price of Rs 60,000, making the transition cost practically zero. The premium-ride seeking customers have also much to look for, as the company’s offering will go up to Rs 1,50,000, providing a high-performance electric travelling partner. 

Oben Electric being a flag holder of the “Make in India” campaign boasts an intention to lead the charge in revolutionising India’s electric mobility landscape by offering innovative solutions to meet the rising demand of the world’s third-largest automobile industry. The upcoming vehicles underline the company’s commitment to providing sustainable, efficient and high-tech features within an affordable range. 

The company in its ambitious press statement has revealed that they are trying to tap into the yet-to-tap motorcycle segment of India's EV industry. Oben has observed that the motorcycle segment of the EV industry is only 30% catered while leaving the potential 70% empty. Oben with its launch of new vehicles seeks to fit into this void. 

By already setting a good example from its previous Rorr vehicle, launched in 2022, Oben Electric is further expected to launch these new vehicles to offer the same level of reliability and performance as equivalent to their internal combustion engine (ICE) counterparts.

What does the future look like?

One of the notable features of Oben Electric's new vehicles will be the  LFP battery which is proven to be one of the most efficient battery technologies of the time. LFP batteries are particularly well-suited for India's challenging climatic conditions. This technology ensures that Oben Electric's vehicles can deliver reliable performance and longevity, even in extreme temperatures. Moreover, the vehicle will also feature superior heat resistance making the rides more durable and with an extended lifespan.
