Ola S1 Pro+ Gen 3: Pushing the Boundaries of Electric Scooters

Ola Electric once again

sets a new benchmark in the two-wheeler electric industry with its launching of the new S1 Pro+ Gen 3. Its headline feature will be the 40680 Bharat cell, which will come with an excellent range of up to 324 km per charge, the highest in the e-scooter segment. Ola has successfully been able to bring out a product for every segment in its Gen 3 lineup, from daily commuters, and gig workers, to luxury riders. The latest launches will further affirm Ola's commitment to sustainability, innovation, and efficiency in the Indian EV market.


Bhavish Aggarwal, chairman and managing director of Ola Electric, said, “With our first generation of scooters, we offered customers a truly aspirational electric scooter that kickstarted the EV revolution in the country. With Gen 2, we made our scooters smarter and more accessible by expanding our portfolio with scooters for every Indian across every price range,” a press release by the company reported.


He further said, “

Today, with Gen 3

, we are taking the EV two-wheeler industry to the ‘next level’. Gen 3 is bringing unmatched performance, superior efficiency, and reinventing benchmarks we set for ourselves, which will change the industry all over again,” the release added.


The Ola Gen 3 Lineup


Ola Gen 3 is the new product lineup of four main models of Ola for different customer requirements, with two battery variants each.


Ola S1X Gen 3


The Ola S1X Gen 3 is perfect for urban commuters seeking affordability and smart features. It offers three battery options: The 2 kWh battery ride has a range of 108 km, a top speed of 101 km/hr, and a quick acceleration of 0-40 km/hr in just 3.4 seconds. The Ola S1X 3 kWh Gen 3 variant features 176 km of range, a

top speed of 115 km/hr

, and acceleration from 0-40 km/hr in just 3.1 seconds.


The highest trim level– the 4 kWh dual battery variant provides up to 242 km per charge. The motor of 5.5 kW, a top speed of 123 km/h and a 7-inch touchscreen display for navigation and connectivity, makes the ride a thrilling yet practicable option.


Ola S1X+ Gen 3


Another option for those seeking a balance between performance and affordability is the Ola S1X+. It offers a 4 kWh battery with a range of 242 km and a peak power of 11kW. The vehicle can accelerate from 0-40 km in just 3 seconds. With Enhanced seat ergonomics, A full chain cover, and a 4.3-inch colour segmented display, the vehicle is a whole package of performance and style you can ask for. 


Ola S1 Pro Gen 3


The

Ola S1 Pro Gen 3 is an electric scooter

with a high-end look for those in search of premium performance. The standard battery capacity is 3 kWh with a range of 176 km and a top speed of 117 km/hr, and the extended battery goes up to 4 kWh with a range of 242 km. It boasts a top speed of 125 km/h with a peak power of 11kW and includes advanced features like cruise control, multiple riding modes, and enhanced smart connectivity. 


Ola S1 Pro+ Gen 3


The Ola S1 Pro+ is the flagship model in the series, which uses the

latest 40680 Bharat cell technology

. It comes with two options of batteries: a standard 4 kWh battery with an IDC range of 242 km. The vehicle comes with a peak power of 13kW and a top speed of 128 km/h. It also comes with premium suspension, a large LCD touchscreen, and OTA software updates. Another variant of the vehicle comes equipped with a 5kWh variant which powers up the ride to travel a whopping distance of 320 kms on a single charge and an exhilarating top speed of 128 km/hr.



Other Offerings from Ola


Apart from its Gen 3 lineup, the company has furthered its portfolio with more models for particular segments. The Ola S1Z was scheduled to be launched in May 2025 as a lightweight commuter scooter. In terms of specifications, it has removable dual 1.5 kWh batteries and is said to offer a range of up to 146 km along with a top speed of 70 km/h. It packs an LCD display and a physical key start. The product is priced at Rs 59,999. The Ola S1Z+, which will also be launched in May 2025, has the same specs but is designed for dual-purpose usage and is priced at Rs 64,999.


For gig workers,

Ola has introduced the Ola Gig and Ola Gig+

, both launching in April 2025. The Ola Gig is designed for short-distance deliveries, featuring a 1.5 kWh removable battery, 112 km range, and 25 km/h top speed, priced at Rs 39,999. The Ola Gig+ is designed for more extended travel distances and more payload, which includes single or dual battery types with an 81 km range with a single battery 157 km with two batteries and a 45 km/h top speed.


Ola also hinted that they will soon introduce an electric roadster bike series, aimed at bringing high-performance electric motorcycles to the Indian market. As of now, all details remain unrevealed; however, it indicates the further expansion of Ola in the premium electric two-wheeler segment.
