BluSmart-backed Gensol EV presents EZIO at Global Expo 2025: Here are anticipated market changes
Have you ever heard of 'Zero Defect Workstations'? An EV manufacturing workstation where the top and field-level employees actively engage to deliver a product with 'zero' defects whatsoever. An EV developed with zero defects seems promising, right? Well, Gensol EV, a subsidiary of Gensol Engineering has turned this idea into reality. The company’s first EV– EZIO is going to be launched at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
The BluSmart-backed Gensol EV is expected to cater to the company’s cab service available in cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai(recently). Following the launch of EZIO, the EV subsidiary of Gensol along with the existing cab service, the parent company will now have greater autonomy. This partnership is forged on the foundation of shared values and a common vision for sustainable mobility and is expected to be proven highly synergistic. This partnership not only provides a significant market for Gensol's vehicles but also contributes significantly to BluSmart's mission of providing sustainable and eco-friendly transportation solutions. By leveraging this partnership, BluSmart is able to offer a reliable and affordable fleet of electric vehicles, demonstrating the viability and convenience of electric mobility to a wider audience.
Here is how the market is going to welcome this development–
1- Greater Market Share in Ride-hailing Services-
As of now, BluSmart occupies only about 2% ride-hailing market in India. However, the company is only present in big cities like Delhi NCR, Bangalore, and Mumbai, where 68% of the nation's mobility market is concentrated. Generally, BluSmart's fleet includes different types of vehicles including Mahindra Tata e-Tigor, e-Verito, Hyundai Kona, Tata Xpres-T EV, Electric, and MG ZS Electric. However, these vehicles are generally hired on a lease basis. BluSmart relies heavily on vehicles leased from Gensol Engineering as well. Around two-thirds of BluSmart's fleet is sourced from Gensol. In the coming times, this self-dependence is going to increase. With the introduction of the EZIO EV, the company might either become less dependent on its previous leasing structure or expand its market even further. Both of the scenarios seem favourable for the company in the long run. Therefore, the introduction of the EZIO seems to be the right step to achieve a greater market share.
Competition on Sustainable Manufacturing:
At the 13th Annual Kaizen Congress India 2024, Sumit Kumar from Gensol EV’s Manufacturing Quality Assurance team garnered attention for his insights on "Kaizen for Quality Improvements on the Assembly Line."His innovative approach to creating Defect Dictionaries and establishing "Zero Defect Workstations underscores Gensol EV’s commitment to achieving manufacturing excellence,” according to a post by Gensol EV on Linkedin. This recognition not only celebrates Sumit’s dedication but also reinforces the company’s ethos of continuous improvement. This dedication holds moral incentives as well as the brand reliability of the company for its users. The method of sustainable manufacturing is another trend at which companies are slowly transitioning. Aiming for a lower carbon footprint and more sustainable engineering process is the need of the hour for any company that is seeking to expand worldwide. With Gensol entering into the EV segment, the manufacturing process may also get highlighted making companies more accountable to the environment.
Autonomous Driving: The Future Beckons
Gensol EV’s vision, as highlighted in BISInfotech’s article, emphasizes the transformative potential of autonomous vehicles. Gensol may contribute a significant effort to pave the way for fully autonomous driving, a feature that promises to redefine urban mobility. Autonomous technology not only enhances safety but also optimizes traffic flow, reduces energy consumption, and ensures greater accessibility for all commuters. Although it is still a significantly long way to introduce this technology in the Indian EV market, the continuous launches of EVs in the Indian Ev market like EZIO EV will mark the Industry’s vision to enable such tech soon.
Gensol first EV- the EZIO
The EZIO offers promises to redefine urban mobility with a range of up to 200 km and a top speed of 80 kmph, backed by ARAI certification in February 2024.
The Ezio’s standout design features include reflector-style LED headlights, a floating roof, charging ports on the front fenders, and wrap-around taillights. Inside, the cabin boasts a layered dashboard, gloss black accents, a large central touchscreen, and premium features like a sunroof and automatic climate control. Its compact yet futuristic design ensures both style and practicality for India’s busy cityscapes.
Technologically, the Ezio sets new benchmarks with in-cabin driver assistance technology, AI-driven cloud analytics, and a comprehensive connectivity stack. These innovations enhance safety and deliver a smart, adaptive driving experience.
Gensol’s entry into the EV market with the Ezio signals a commitment to sustainable and intelligent mobility. As it takes centre stage at the Bharat Mobility Expo, the EZIO is poised to captivate audiences, symbolizing a forward-thinking approach to eco-friendly transportation.
