The Auto Expo 2023 is quickly approaching, and every day, interest in the high-profile releases planned for it soars to greater levels. Given that the official debuts of the Curvv and Avinya designs have now been announced,

Tata Motors

is also making effective plans for the 2023 Auto Expo. Currently, there are speculations that the company's top-of-the-line SUVs, the Harrier and Safari, are going to be on show at the 2023 Auto Expo in all-electric form.

What We know

The all-electric variants of the Tata Harrier and Safari will take the same path Tata Motors used for the

Nexon EV

, Tigor EV, and Tiago EV based on their current iterations. This indicates that Tata Motors will keep the underpinnings and exterior designs of the present Harrier and Safari models. According to reports, the interiors will be identical to the ones with IC engines. Nevertheless, their engines will see a significant alteration. The 2.0-liter diesel engine shared by both SUVs, which FCA supplies, will be substituted with an all-electric drivetrain that consists of a rechargeable battery and an electric powertrain powering the front tires.

What We Know: Range

Although the electric powertrain and battery operating the EV variants of the Tata Harrier and Safari have yet to be discovered, it is anticipated that all these electric SUVs may have a stated range of 500-520 km, which translates to an actual range of 450-475 km. Hence, the market for moderate electric SUVs will be more competitive when these two

electric

SUVs are released.

The 2.0-liter diesel-powered SUV, which has a peak output of 170 PS and a torque of 350 Nm, is the sole engine available for the Tata Harrier and Safari. Harrier and Safari have two gearbox choices: a 6-speed conventional and a 6-speed automated. Additionally, it is anticipated that both these new SUVs will receive a makeover, which will include modest changes to the exterior and back lines as well as a handful of new features, including improved touchscreen infotainment and a complete ADAS system. The remastered Harrier and Safari models may serve as the basis for the all-electric models, which will keep the same range of features as the SUVs' diesel-powered counterparts.

The EV models of the Tata Harrier and Tata Safari EVs are still unannounced by Tata. The three-row Safari would become the only vehicle built in India to have the electrified badge. Over the next two days, all attention will be on Tata Motors' booth to find out what these two EVs will deliver. In the next few days, the

Punch EV

also was anticipated to make an Auto Expo launch.
