electric vehicle (EV) was unveiled by Uber Technologies on Thursday in Mumbai. "Today represents a significant turning point in Uber's commitment to eco-friendly transportation in India”, Uber Technologies published a blog post announcing the Mumbai debut of Uber Green, its flagship electric vehicle (EV) offering.Uber in May, announced that it will work with fleet operators including Lithium, Everest, and Moove to bring 25,000 electric vehicles to its platform. The company that provides cab-hailing services stated, “You can now take on-demand electric vehicle rides thanks to Uber Green, which makes travel more environmentally friendly and lowers carbon emissions.”
"We believe that sustainability should be inherent and integrated into every facet of our lives. We now provide on-demand electric rides because we want to provide our consumers in Mumbai with a rapid and emission-free commuting choice.” Uber claimed
According to the business, travellers flying to and from the Mumbai Airport would have access to its EV facility. “At Mumbai International Airport's Terminal 2, there is a designated Uber Green pick-up zone,” it was added. Additionally, the service will be available across Mumbai, enabling a wider spectrum of customers to contribute to the city's efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable transportation. Uber Technologies noted that the launch of Uber Green in other cities is imminent, "enabling riders across India to travel sustainably and contribute to a cleaner and healthier planet for all."
