ChargePoint introduces AI backed EV charging repair tool
ChargePoint has created an AI-powered driver assistance tool that can quickly diagnose and repair electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
The new software is reportedly the first in the EV charging industry which employs AI to detect physical faults and improve charger uptime.
The program enables drivers to report non-functional charging stations by uploading images to the ChargePoint app. It analyses the photos and communicates the results to ChargePoint's Network Operations Centre, minimising the need for on-site inspections and accelerating issue resolution.
Citing Rick Wilmer, CEO of ChargePoint Benzinga Edge reported, "This technology will enable us to triage and resolve physical issues that can not be detected via remote monitoring, demonstrating our commitment to innovations which deliver a reliable charging network."
Recently, the business has collaborated with major manufacturers across the world to enhance EV charging solutions.
This week, the business announced a collaboration with Daimler Buses to incorporate its telematics and charge management systems into Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses.
In July, the firm teamed with Porsche Cars North America to integrate charging services. The cooperation will enhance Porsche customers' access to more than 100,000 chargers across North America.
