Bengaluru-based electric motorcycle maker Ultraviolette Automotive has launched a new ownership incentive called the "Kill the Petrol Bill" programme. The initiative directly targets petrol two-wheeler owners, offering a usage-linked cashback on purchasing the Ultraviolette F77 or X-47 electric motorcycles.
With fuel prices remaining a persistent concern for Indian commuters, the programme aims to reduce the upfront cost barrier of switching to electric. By translating kilometres already ridden on petrol into ownership benefits, Ultraviolette is highlighting one of the most compelling advantages of electric mobility — the freedom from recurring fuel expenses without compromising on performance, technology, reliability, or riding experience.
How the Kill the Petrol Bill Cashback Works
Unlike flat discounts, this programme ties the incentive to a rider's actual petrol bike usage. The cashback is calculated based on the total kilometres ridden on the customer's current petrol two-wheeler over the last two years.
- The Formula: 1 kilometre ridden = ₹1 cashback.
- Example: A rider who has clocked 20,000 km in 24 months receives ₹20,000 cashback on their new EV purchase.
- Maximum Cap: The cashback is capped at ₹30,000, regardless of total kilometres.
This approach rewards high-usage riders the most — precisely the demographic that stands to save the most by going electric.
Eligible Ultraviolette Models and Ex-Showroom Pricing
The cashback programme applies across Ultraviolette's full electric motorcycle range — the F77 platform (Mach 2 and Superstreet variants) and the X-47 Crossover.

Monthly Savings: Petrol vs Electric Running Costs
Beyond the one-time cashback, Ultraviolette is emphasising the total cost of ownership (TCO) advantage. According to the company, riders switching from standard petrol two-wheelers to the F77 or X-47 platform stand to save between ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 per month on fuel expenses alone.
Over a 5-year ownership period, this translates to potential savings of ₹1.8 lakh to ₹3 lakh — effectively recovering a significant portion of the purchase price through running cost reduction.
What Ultraviolette's CEO Said
Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-founder of Ultraviolette, said:
"The rising cost of petrol has been a topic of widespread discussion for some time now, but there has been relatively little action that directly helps consumers transition away from fuel dependency. At Ultraviolette, we believe the shift to electric mobility needs to be supported by tangible measures that make EV ownership more accessible and compelling, which is also in line with our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision of fast-tracking EV transition."
He added:
"Through this programme, we are enabling prospective two-wheeler owners across India to make that switch with greater confidence, while benefiting from significantly lower running costs, advanced technology, and a superior ownership experience. As electric mobility continues to mature, our focus remains on accelerating adoption by making the transition easier and more rewarding for riders nationwide."
Ultraviolette Tesseract Electric Scooter: January 2027 Launch
Ultraviolette has continued to strengthen its position as one of India's leading EV brands through sustained product innovation, expansion of its retail footprint, growing customer adoption, and continued progress in international markets.
The company is also expanding beyond motorcycles. Its first electric scooter, the Tesseract, is officially scheduled for a January 2027 launch. The Tesseract will feature a new 100V architecture, representing a significant step-up from the current motorcycle platform and signalling Ultraviolette's ambition to compete in the broader two-wheeler EV market.
