Tela is all set to enter India: EV may cost around Rs20 Lakhs

Elon Musk-led electric company Tesla's much-awaited India plan suddenly seems to be building up pace after stalling for a time.

The discussions are reportedly being spearheaded by India's Ministry of Trade and Industry. The objective of the government is to offer a "good deal" while maintaining parity.

The goals Tesla has for India are consistent with the "Make in India" programme of the government. The company plans to produce 500,000 cars yearly in India, with a starting price of roughly Rs. 20 lakhs, according to sources. If Tesla can achieve its production goals, it would have a significant positive impact on the Indian automotive industry. The company's investment would result in the creation of thousands of jobs across the country.

In addition to building automobiles in India, Tesla intends to invest in the country's charging infrastructure. The company reportedly intends to build a network of Superchargers around the country. A Tesla presence in India would be a huge step forward for the electric vehicle industry there. The establishment of the company will hasten the adoption of

in India.

In addition to using China as an export base, the company reportedly aims to leverage India to reach consumers in the Indo-Pacific region. According to sources, Tesla has supplied us with a bold plan that involves both local manufacturing and exports, so "we are optimistic that the outcome is going to be positive this time around."

The company's plans to invest in India have recently changed as a result of Musk's conversation with PM Modi during the latter's recent visit to the US on official business.

Musk, who had previously described himself as a "fan of Mr Modi," admitted that the PM had been urging him to grow his stake in India after their meeting. It is obvious that Mr Modi cares about India since he is pressing us to make significant investments there, which is something we want to do. Only the ideal time is being sought. "I am confident that Tesla will launch in India and will do it as soon as humanly possible," said Musk on June 21.
