Statiq and BMW Group India Launch High-Power EV Charging Network on Major Highways
In a significant move to bolster India's e-mobility infrastructure, leading EV charging network provider Statiq has announced a strategic partnership with BMW Group India. The collaboration is set to electrify India’s major driving corridors by installing high-power charging stations, ensuring a minimum of 120 kW charging access every 300–350 kilometers.
This initiative directly addresses one of the biggest hurdles for EV adoption : range anxiety on long-distance journeys.
The partnership has already activated a robust charging corridor spanning over 4,000 kilometers from Jammu to Madurai. These fast chargers are strategically positioned on key highways and at public locations, offering reliable infrastructure for all electric vehicle owners, regardless of their car's brand.
Addressing the "Core Challenge" of Intercity EV Travel
The new network is designed to provide the confidence needed for seamless intercity travel.
"The partnership with BMW Group India marks a defining moment for India’s EV ecosystem," said Mr. Akshit Bansal, Founder & CEO of Statiq. "By enabling high-power charging every 300–350 km, we are addressing the core challenge of range anxiety and providing the confidence needed for long-distance electric mobility."
For BMW and MINI EV owners, these new charging stations will be integrated and accessible through the myBMW app.
BMW Hits 5,000 EV Sales Milestone
The announcement coincides with a major achievement for BMW Group India, which confirmed it is the first luxury carmaker in the country to surpass 5,000 electric vehicle deliveries.
Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, commented on the dual achievement: "We are pleased to partner with Statiq... The chargers located strategically across the length of the country will offer charging capacities ranging from 120 kW to 720 kW."
Mr. Brar also emphasized the customer-centric design, noting chargers are placed near "cafés, restaurants, and public spaces where drivers can relax while their vehicles recharge."
Building a Future-Ready Charging Ecosystem
This collaboration is a key part of Statiq's aggressive expansion plan. The company's network already includes more than 8,000 chargers in over 70 cities.
"Integrating seamless digital experiences with a vast network of high-performance chargers, we are ensuring India’s highways are future ready," said Mr. Raghav Arora, Co-Founder & CTO of Statiq.
Statiq is aiming to install 20,000 charging points by 2026 and continues to integrate its platform with other major providers like E-Fill, Sunfuel, and GLIDA to create a more unified and accessible charging ecosystem for all EV drivers. This partnership signals a crucial step forward in making India's national highways truly EV-ready, supporting the nation's broader goals for clean transportation.
