Ola Electric Smashes 900,000 Sales! Can the EV Giant Hit 1 Million Before 2025 Ends?

In a milestone moment for India’s EV revolution, Ola Electric has become the first Indian electric vehicle manufacturer to sell over 900,000 units, as per Vahan portal data till June 2025.

The Bengaluru-based EV giant, which entered the electric two-wheeler market in late 2021, has clocked 917,886 cumulative sales in under four years — a feat unmatched by any other domestic OEM.

A Record-Breaking Journey

  • Best Year Yet (CY2024): Ola sold 407,692 units, grabbing 35% of the e-2W market.

  • Historic High: March 2024 saw record monthly sales of 53,647 units (38% market share).

  • Firsts: Ola has been the first to cross 100K, 200K, 300K, and 400K annual sales milestones.

Rivals have also had strong years — TVS (220,814 units in 2024), Bajaj Auto (193,653), and Ather Energy (126,358) — but Ola remains far ahead in cumulative sales, followed by TVS at 606,381 units and Bajaj at 459,053 units.

The Products Powering Ola’s Lead.

Ola’s dominance comes largely from its 14-variant S1 e-scooter lineup, ranging from ₹65,000 to ₹1.7 lakh. The flagship S1 Pro, with a 4 kWh battery and 142 km range, continues to be a bestseller.

In May 2025, Ola launched the Roadster X electric motorcycle, aiming at the ICE commuter segment with:

  • Peak Power: 11 kW

  • Top Speed: 125 km/h

  • Range: 501 km

  • Claim: 15× lower running cost than petrol rivals

The Road Ahead: Can Ola Touch 1 Million by 2025?

With five months left in the year, Ola is well-positioned to sell another 100,000 units, becoming the first Indian e-2W maker to cross the 1 million cumulative sales mark.

However, competition is heating up. TVS and Bajaj have topped monthly sales since April 2025, and industry-wide supply chain pressures — from rare earth magnet shortages to geopolitical disruptions — could slow momentum for many OEMs.

EVINDIA Analysis: Ola’s best bet to reclaim monthly leadership could be:

  • Aggressive festive season campaigns

  • Leveraging the buzz around its Independence Day “India Inside” vision

  • Expanding Roadster X deliveries to rural and tier-2 markets

  • Boosting production ahead of festive demand while rivals cut operations

Watch this space: August 15 will reveal Ola Electric’s new tech roadmap and product updates at its ‘Sankalp’ event from the Krishnagiri Gigafactory — potentially the launchpad to their 1 million sales milestone.
