Bijliride Scales India’s EV Ecosystem: Plans 15,000 Electric Two Wheelers and Expansion to 25+ Cities

Bijliride, a rising force in the Indian electric mobility sector, has announced a massive national expansion strategy. By onboarding six new franchises in Hyderabad, the startup has signaled the commencement of its ambitious plan to penetrate over 25 high growth Indian cities and scale its fleet to 15,000 electric two wheelers within the next 18 months.

The FOFO Model: Empowering Local Entrepreneurs

At the heart of Bijliride’s growth is the Franchise Owned Franchise Operated (FOFO) model. This strategic framework allows local entrepreneurs to lead the EV transition in their respective regions while leveraging Bijliride’s sophisticated technology stack.

Under this model, franchise partners manage local operations, while Bijliride provides:

  • Real-time vehicle tracking and performance analytics.

  • Centralized rental management systems.

  • Standardized battery management and servicing protocols.

  • Demand generation through partnerships with gig economy platforms and logistics operators.

Investment and Profitability in the EV Franchise Market

For entrepreneurs looking to enter the electric vehicle business in India, the Bijliride model offers a structured entry point. A typical entry level fleet consists of 50 electric two wheelers with an estimated investment of ₹14–16 lakh.

With the rising demand for last mile delivery and sustainable urban commuting, the company projects a break even period of approximately 12–15 months. This recurring revenue model is designed to capitalize on the booming gig economy and enterprise mobility needs.

Targeting 150% Growth Across 25+ Cities

Bijliride is evaluating a mix of Tier-1 and Tier-2 markets to achieve its goal of 30 franchise partners by March 2027. Key target cities include:

  • Metros: Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Kolkata.

  • Emerging Hubs: Ahmedabad, Pune, Jaipur, Indore, Lucknow, and Kochi.

  • Growth Clusters: Guntur, Warangal, Vishakhapatnam, and Patna.

Shivam Sisodiya, CEO and Co-Founder of Bijliride, commented on the expansion:

"Electric mobility demand in India is growing rapidly, particularly among gig workers and last mile delivery operators. Our focus is disciplined scale. The FOFO model allows us to grow responsibly by partnering with local entrepreneurs who understand their markets while leveraging our technology platform."

Future Outlook: Shaping India’s Last-Mile Delivery

With a target of 150% growth in operations, Bijliride is positioning itself as a critical infrastructure provider for India’s logistics sector. By bridging the gap between vehicle ownership and operational technology, the startup is not just expanding a fleet; it is building a scalable ecosystem for sustainable urban mobility.

As the Indian government continues to push for EV adoption through various schemes, platforms like Bijliride are essential in providing the "boots on the ground" necessary to make electric two wheelers the default choice for Indian roads.
