UP Chief Minister meets Tata Group to push for electric mobility, renewables, and more
The recently concluded meeting between the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Tata Group leadership reviewed key advances in power generation, renewable energy, electric mobility, and infrastructure, reinforcing the state’s clean energy and industrial growth push.
Upcoming Projects in UP
The state has several projects in the pipeline, including the 360×3 configuration, 1,900 MW Bara thermal power plant in Prayagraj, which will play an important role in the state’s power demand for households and industries. To increase Uttar Pradesh's capacity for renewable energy, the Group has confirmed the construction of two 50 MW solar power facilities in Bundelkhand and Prayagraj.
Meanwhile, to promote decentralized clean energy adoption and resilience, rooftop solar solutions are being expanded throughout 50 of the state’s 75 districts. Work is progressing on four to five new Tata buildings in Noida, with a goal of phased completion by December 2026, establishing Noida as a significant corporate and commercial center.

The engagement also examined prospects linked to the launch of new electric vehicle (EV) models, the release of electric buses, and the wider development of the EV ecosystem.
Further, the meeting discussed Tata Sons’ plan to increase its manufacturing presence in the state, with specific facilities dedicated to electric vehicles.
The meeting reiterated that alignment with the defence manufacturing ecosystem of Uttar Pradesh should continue, especially at critical nodes, to boost technological capability, manufacturing depth, and industrial diversification.
The meeting highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s strategy of integrated development, where the advancement of clean energy, industry, and infrastructure occurs simultaneously, establishing the state as a robust and future-ready economic engine.
