Tata Motors Delivers First Batch of Prima E.55S Electric Trucks to BillionE Mobility
In a landmark move for India's heavy duty logistics sector, Tata Motors has officially commenced deliveries of its Prima E.55S electric prime movers to BillionE Mobility. This delivery marks the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at decarbonizing long haul freight across the country.
Alongside the initial delivery, BillionE Mobility has placed an additional order for 250 electric trucks, signaling a major commitment to zero-emission commercial transport.
Expanding India’s Green Freight Corridors
The newly delivered fleet is set to operate across high traffic freight corridors in states including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and the Delhi NCR region. These electric trucks will be deployed for the heavy duty transport of industrial goods such as steel, cement, and containers.

Strategic Partnership for Sustainable Logistics
The handover ceremony saw key leadership from both organizations, including Girish Wagh, MD of Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, and Kartikey Hariyani, Founder of BillionE Mobility.
BillionE Mobility aims to scale its electric fleet to 1,500 units over the next 18 months. By integrating the Prima E.55S which features India's largest in class battery pack the company is positioning itself as a leader in middle mile and long haul electric logistics.
Why This Matters for the EV Industry
This deployment is a significant pivot from light commercial EVs (like last-mile delivery vans) to heavy-duty long-haul trucking. With advanced features like regenerative braking and an indigenous e axle, the Prima E.55S demonstrates that electric powertrains are now viable for the most demanding commercial applications in India.
