Porsche to launch Fourth-Gen Cayenne in all-electric model
Porsche has announced that the next Cayenne SUV will only be available in all-electric configuration. According to reports, the all-electric Cayenne is expected to go on sale in 2026. Porsche has, however, also said that the third-generation model of the Cayenne, which is now being sold, would undergo significant upgrades and be offered with both internal combustion engine and hybrid powertrains throughout the remainder of the decade. Reportedly, Porsche has also pledged to make its upcoming Cayenne's twin-turbo V8 in accordance with emission regulations
The recently released images of the Cayenne EV prototype by Porsche show a preview of the production-spec SUV's appearance. The model will boast many EV-specific stylistic elements while maintaining a shape like that of the departing model. Prototype DRLs resembled those of the Macan EV and may find their way into the production-spec car. The Porsche Macan EV and its sibling vehicle, the Audi Q6 e-Tron, are both constructed on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, which will support the new model. These cars come with a 100 kWh battery pack and may be purchased with either rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).
Porsche has also stated that the Cayenne prototype is now moving into the real-world testing phase. In order to verify the prototypes' dependability and durability, the prototype will be driven over extended distances in harsh topographical and climatic circumstances. According to the statement, the Porsche plant has already started testing disguised prototypes of the all-electric Cayenne.
