Ola Electric Rolls Out 1 Millionth EV in Just 4 Years with Special Edition Roadster X+

Ola Electric has created history by becoming India’s first pure-play EV company to hit the 1 million production milestone, achieved in under four years since it began operations. The landmark was celebrated with the rollout of a special edition Ola Roadster X+ from its Futurefactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu.

The special edition Roadster X+ comes in a striking midnight blue shade with sporty red accents across the seat, rims, and battery pack. To highlight sustainability, Ola has also introduced badges made from recycled copper waste and eco-friendly bar ends, reinforcing its commitment to green mobility.

Ola’s Journey: From Startup to Market Leader

Ola Electric entered production in 2021 and rapidly scaled up operations, fueled by the runaway success of its S1 electric scooter portfolio and the newly launched Roadster X electric motorcycle series.

In just four years, Ola has:

  • Crossed 1 million EV production – a first for any pure-play EV brand in India.

  • Built the world’s largest two-wheeler EV factory with vertical integration for batteries and vehicles.

  • Expanded to 4,000+ experience stores across India, strengthening its direct-to-customer model.

Ola’s spokesperson said:

“This milestone is not just about numbers; it’s about India’s EV revolution. We’ve proven that world-class EVs can be designed, engineered, and manufactured in India. Our mission is clear – #EndICEAge and make India the global hub for EV innovation.”

New Launches: Bharat Cell Powered EVs

At its annual ‘Sankalp’ event, Ola unveiled its next-gen 4680 Bharat Cell integrated vehicles, which mark a huge leap in India’s EV battery technology:

Ola also entered the sports scooter category with the S1 Pro Sport, powered by 4680 Bharat Cells, offered in 5.2 kWh and 4 kWh battery packs. Introductory price: ₹1,49,999. Deliveries begin January 2026.

Why This Matters for India’s EV Market

Ola Electric’s rapid rise highlights three key trends in India’s EV ecosystem:

  1. Mass Adoption of EVs – 1 million units in four years shows consumer trust.

  2. Battery Innovation – With Bharat Cell technology, Ola is reducing import dependency.

  3. Festive Season Push – Launches timed around Navratri 2025 and early 2026 could make Ola the clear market leader ahead of TVS, Bajaj, and Ather.

With competitors battling raw material shortages and slower scaling, Ola is positioned to dominate the upcoming festive demand cycle.
