Kia electric Syros SUV spy shots leaked: Here is what we know so far
The spy shots of the upcoming Kia electric Syros SUV have teased netizens and raised questions about the expected features of the upcoming vehicle.
The vehicle was spotted in a camouflaged test mule with a public DC fast charger plugged into it, as per pictures uploaded by Autospy. The images revealed that the front fender of the SUV will feature the charging port, unlike the design of the Carens Clavis EV, which had a nose-mounted port. The close-ups of the vehicles also indicate the possibility of having a similar charging port on the other side of the vehicle, as well.
From a design perspective, the Kia Syros EV looks similar to its ICE counterpart, which is currently available in the Indian market. However, a few things have changed. The EV, for example, has Lime Green brake callipers, which the manufacturer usually uses for its GT cars. Furthermore, both ends include alloy wheels that have been aero-optimised and disc brakes. Additionally, the test mule appears to have both front and rear parking sensors, suggesting the possibility of an ADAS suite.
The electric variant of the Syros will be engineered on the K1 platform, a foundation of Inster, Hyundai Casper, and Exter available in foreign markets. The electric Syros will be powered by a front-wheel drive system. The car will probably be equipped with the Hyundai Inster’s battery pack, including the 42kWh and 49kWh variants. Although no details are revealed yet, the vehicle may deliver a range of 300km in its base model and 355km in the top model.
