Kia and Hyundai to cross over 100,000 EV sales by end of Oct
Kia Corp backed by Hyundai Motor Co. is all set to sell over 100,000 electric vehicles (EVs) by the conclusion of October, citing data released by the company on Oct.13, Yonhap News reported.
Achieving a 30.3% hike in sales from last year, the two South Korean carmakers collectively reported sales of 91,348 EVs, according to the report.
Kia experienced a growth of 80.3%, reaching sales of 43,051 units, while the EV sales of Hyundai marked a year-on-year rise of 4.5%, reaching sales of 48,297 units.
Meanwhile, according to market analysts, their collective EV sales are expected to cross the milestone of 100,000 units by the end of this month.

Kim emphasised the company's goal of developing localised supply chains for key EV components like battery packs, powertrains, and battery cells, as well as investing in charging infrastructure.
Hyundai Motor India's Chief Operating Officer Tarun Garg also underlined the company's ambitious EV vision, adding, "We are launching the Creta EV, followed by three more models, to drive our EV sales even further."
