Hyundai to launch Creta EV: Here is all you need to know
Hyundai Motor India on Wednesday finally announced the launch of its much-awaited Creta EV on January 17 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The vehicle will compete with the Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser EV and others.
The Hyundai Creta Electric will come with two battery packs including 51.4kWh and 42kWh variants. In addition, the 51.4kWh option claims a range of 473km, while the 4.2kWh variant can go up to 390km on a single full charge.
With a DC fast charger, the Hyundai Creta Electric claims to get charged from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes. It just takes four hours to get a 10%–100% charge using an 11kW linked wall-box AC home charger.
The Hyundai Creta Electric is said to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.9 seconds thanks to the vehicle’s larger battery pack (51.4kWh).
Exterior
In design, the vehicle resembles its ICE SUV counterpart having an identical front and rear looks. However, the EV version comes with specific EV-focused elements featuring auto manufacturers' global Pixel design language for electric cars. Both the lower bumper and the front grille include pixelated graphics and an integrated charging port. The rear also features a pixelated graphic bumper. The electric SUV's adaptive air flaps improve aerodynamic performance by controlling airflow and assisting in cooling the vehicle's components. Additionally, it has new 17-inch aero alloy wheels and tyres with minimal rolling resistance.
Tech
The vehicle comes with vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology which enables it to power external devices from both inside and outside the car. Moreover, with the help of i-pedal technology, the driver may accelerate, decelerate, and even stop the electric SUV entirely with a single pedal. The system is shift-by-wire. Additionally, a digital key system is installed in the car. There are four models of the Hyundai Creta EV: Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence. The Vehicle comes in eight monochromatic and two dual-tone colour options including three matte colors. In addition, a brand-new hue has also been added– Ocean Blue Metallic with a black roof.
Hyundai is trying to increase the number of charging stations in India. Within the next seven years, the business hopes to install about 600 quick public EV charging stations. Users will have access to more than 10,000 EV charging stations nationwide through Hyundai's myHyundai app.
