Honda’s electric plans for 2025: EV Fun, EV Urban, CUV e and much more
Expanding its electric vehicle portfolio, Honda at EICMA 2024 has launched two new EV concepts– the EV Fun and the EV Urban.
The EV Fun Concept is a sports-oriented electric motorbike that performs similarly to a mid-sized internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycle. It has a sleek, futuristic appearance, a battery compatible with CCS2 rapid charging, and a claimed range of more than 100 km.
Meanwhile, the EV Urban Concept comes with a function-driven build providing smooth urban mobility. The urban concept is equipped with a custom-developed battery thanks to which the vehicle claims to provide extra features like strong integration of software with hardware, and good connectivity.
Moreover, Honda has also unveiled its plan to introduce CUV e as the company’s second electric two-wheeler in the European market. Earlier, the company launched its electric moped– EM1 e in the European market.
CUV e, the upcoming electric scooter of the Honda is expected to provide a range of 70km and may feature a 5-inch or 7-inch TFT display, three riding modes, interchangeable Honda Mobile Power Pack e: batteries and full LED lighting, according to a report by Autocar professional.
Developed for higher-capacity bikes, Honda also demonstrated its new V3 internal combustion engine concept. This 75° V3 engine features an electronic compressor, a first in motorcycles, which helps manage intake air compression independent of engine rpm. This increases torque over the whole rpm range while also providing additional flexibility to design, assisting in mass centralisation and improving overall efficiency, the news agency further reported.
Honda also unveiled many upgraded vehicles in the 25YM line-up. The NC750X has been redesigned with sharper styling and improved braking capability, which now has two front brake discs. A revised seat and a new TFT display with Honda RoadSync connectivity further improve the bike's comfort. The GB350S, an A2 licence-friendly motorbike, has a classic look with a modern twist, with a slipper clutch, 41mm front forks, a 310mm front disc brake and LED lighting.
Interestingly, at the event, Honda also showcased its new variety of lubricants, Pro Honda Oil ine, which are customized for Honda motorcycles. Pro Honda oils are designed to improve engine performance and provide greater protection, giving Honda owners access to high-quality lubricants specifically designed for their vehicles.
