BPCL and IONAGE extend partnership to further widen EV charging network

The Maharatna' and Fortune Global 500 company, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has revealed the extension of its relationship with IONAGE, a Bangalore-based eMobility service provider. The partnership aims to improve the convenience and accessibility of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure throughout India.

Allowing customers to access all networks of EV chargers on one platform, IONAGE brings all charging stations from multiple Charge Point Operators (CPOs) to one place, making the procedure easier for EV owners. Initiated in February 2022, BPCL's BPC eDrive Initiative's success resulted in this expanded collaboration, which integrates BPCL's EV chargers into IONAGE's infrastructure.

Pardeep Goyal, BPCL's Business Head of Retail, commented on the collaboration, saying, "We are delighted to extend our partnership with IONAGE. Customer accessibility and convenience are top concerns for BPCL when it comes to charging infrastructure. This collaboration will let clients access BPCL charges via IONAGE's aggregation platform."

Vimal Kumar, CEO of IONAGE, continued, "Our goal at IONAGE is to build a comprehensive ecosystem that meets the needs of all-electric vehicle owners and operators. Partnering with BPCL, a recognised company of rapid EV charging facilities, is a significant step towards making EV charging more accessible and dependable throughout India."

S. Kannan, BPCL's Chief General Manager of Marketing (Retail), and Shri Vimal Kumar, CEO of IONAGE, signed the agreement in the presence of Shri Pardeep Goyal.

Increasing customer interest, alongside aid from the government, propels India toward a future of electric mobility. The development of public charging stations is critical to this process since it helps the government meet its 2030 EV adoption targets. BPCL and IONAGE's partnership demonstrates the value of establishing collaboration in building out the long-needed EV infrastructure.

IONAGE will have more than 100,000 EV chargers in its infrastructure by 2028. This kind of constant collaboration with BPCL will enable the company to continue fulfilling India's vision of building the nation's EV infrastructure and supporting the country's move toward electric transportation. By putting its chargers into IONAGE's infrastructure, BPCL hopes to improve consumer convenience and accessibility while also contributing to India's EV ambitions for 2030.
