After Murthal and Bengaluru Chennai expressway, Mahindra plans to establish 250 EV charging stations
Mahindra & Mahindra announced on Tuesday that it intends to install 250 electric vehicle charging stations of 180 kW capacity by the end of 2027.
According to a statement from the Mumbai-based manufacturer, the network will include 1,000 charging stations spread among 250 stations, in line with the government's aim of bolstering public EV charging infrastructure to speed up EV adoption in India.
The already operates two Charge_IN stations at Murthal on NH44, roughly 50 km from Delhi, and Hoskote on NH 75, Bengaluru Chennai expressway.
Citing the CEO of the Automotive Division, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, Business Standard reported, “Electric mobility is about driving a larger shift towards cleaner, sustainable transportation. XEV 9e and BE 6, with their impressive 500 km real-world range, ensure drivers feel confident on long journeys. Meanwhile, with our ultra-fast charging network by Charge_IN, we will be creating an open and accessible network for all EV users."
According to the company, the new Charge_IN stations will be established strategically along important traffic networks.
The statement further stated that each station will have wayside facilities like cafes and restaurants nearby, making them ideal places for travellers to stop.
