Everything you need to know about the Pravaig Defy Electric SUV

PRAVAIG Electric SUV

PRAVAIG Dynamics

, a Bengaluru-based EV OEM, has become the first-ever Homegrown automobile company to introduce a built-from-scratch, indigenously designed luxury electric four-wheeler.

Interestingly in terms of price, Pravaig competes with the likes of

BYD in India and Tesla's entry-level models in markets like the USA and Europe. In terms of price per kilowatt hour of battery, it competes with a model like Tata Nexon. In terms of luxurious features, it competes with Audi E Tron's other luxurious offerings in the EV segment. But USP like no other, Pravaig has taken the first step to give competition to Tesla, Chinese players like BYD, and other automobile giants to change the trajectory of the Global EV market and to accelerate the process of building a resilient supply chain for EV OEMs in India.

With curtains up on the product, the Electric 4.96 MM SUV is packed with 402bhp/ 150kW of peak power & 90.9 kwh of vertically integrated NMC lithium-ion battery, which converts to a best-in-class top speed of 210 km/hr and a best-in-class KM range (milage) of 500+ km in a single charge with a fast charging capacity of 80% charge in just 30 mins. What that means is just 10 - 15 Minutes of fast charging can provide you with at least 200 kilometers of true range on a Highway speed of 100 kilometers an hour which car Accelerate in just 4.9 seconds.

The launched automobile is reported to have luxurious features like captain seats, air filters, a Laptop desk, a soundproof cabin, and a limousine partition. Also, the CEO and one of the company founders, Sidharth Bagri, has claimed that the sound system in this vehicle is the best sound system ever experienced. This vehicle is meant to be chauffeur driven with features like massive legroom, vanity mirrors, and many more.

Taking comfort as a priority, Defy complements its performance and comes with a smooth glass suspension. The E-SUV will be powered, made & designed in India. And will use earlier batteries showcased in Extinction Sedan Concept but not passed for production.

Earlier, Pravaig also unveiled its symmetrical box-style design similar to Tesla Truck.

However, the design is in SUV class with the layering of sleek styling elements. It includes the single-piece LED tail light running across the width of the tailgate.

The Pravaig

lettering as a logo is seen under the tail light. It is also designed with An expansive Panoramic Moon Roof. With current local localization of 85%, By 2028, Pravaig aims to be 100% Made in India.

The launch price of DEFY is set at Rs.39.50 Lakhs (ex-showroom price), which puts it with the direct competition of players like

BYD in India. But by the time DEFY’s delivery starts by the end of next year. The segments might look different, with many more options for the buyer.

Ironically, Praviag’s USP to enter the Global luxurious EV segment is not the luxury itself but their approach towards owners' privacy. Respecting user privacy,

Pravaig

's product has been designed to optimize the data sharing of users. Hence, EV owners can control how much data they want to share. Moreover, the vehicle has an utmost priority on data privacy as it does not include microphones, cameras, or data profiling.

Their launched product is one of the first made-from-scratch Indian EVs globally. Narrowing down the gap between the Global (Chinese Eco System) and Indian EV Eco-System, this vehicle can accelerate the building of a resilient supply chain for EVs and OEMs in India.
