All You Need To Know About Tork Kratos : Price, Battery, Range & more

After years of research,

Tork Motors

officially debuted their incredibly audacious electric motorcycle a few months ago. The battery-powered motorbike is available in two versions from the Pune-based EV manufacturer: ordinary and the somewhat more powerful R trim. We have reviewed the same and put everything you need to know about the Tork Kratos before you.

According to Kratos, it was the first Indian-made electric motorbike. This implies that every motorbike component, save the battery cells, was created in India, such as the powertrain, battery pack and its case, the stylish body, electronic components, etc.

Design & Features

The

Tork Kratos

is pretty upscale. The Kratos have luxury elegance, from the geometric and modern LED headlamp to the crisp and sharp fake radiator shields. The split seat, angular tailpiece, alloy wheels featuring disc brakes on both axles, and a CBS braking system add to the vehicle's athletic aspect. The LCD digital console provides all essential displays, such as speed, the riding mode that has been chosen, trip meters, and perhaps even powertrain and rather significant battery temperature.

An essential limp home mode, geo-fencing, find my bike functionality, motor walk aid, collision alarm, ride statistics, competent charging assessment, vacation mode, and other features are among the extra features available on the

Kratos R

. Future editions of the Kratos will support OTA updates as well as other functionality that will be added through software upgrades. Overall, it has a professional appearance and enhances the Kratos' luxury materials and athletic attitude.

Speed & Acceleration

A potent axial flux motor with a peak power of 9kW and continuous power of 4kW forces the Tork Kratos R. It produces a maximum torque of 38Nm. The Kratos R is said to accelerate from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour in 3.5 seconds, while the original Kratos is estimated to go from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour in 4 seconds at its max power of 7.5kW torque of 28 Nm. The Kratos R has a top speed of 105 kmph, compared to the ordinary Kratos's advertised top speed of 100 kmph. The Tork Kratos R begins to gain momentum immediately and smoothly. The quoted acceleration rates appear somewhat true, as 60–70 kmph is attained smoothly and without hesitancy. The bike comfortably reaches 85 kmph on a slightly steep part before slowing to negotiate the next bend. The braking functions differ from those on a motorbike since there are hand levers and no side brake pedal, which your foot will naturally search for if you want to slow down quickly.

Battery & Range

The Kratos R has three riding modes: Eco, City, and Sport, each of which has a distinct amount of power and range. Before the user changes the options with the switchgear, the bike usually begins in Eco mode by default. Performance in Eco mode is sufficient but could be more exciting, and once you approach 45 kmph, the active throttle control (ATC) begins to interfere. The top-of-the-line Kratos has a more powerful 9kW motor and produces a maximum torque of 38 Nm. In the real world, Tork claims a range of 120 km in Eco mode and about 70 km in Sport mode. However, the range may differ if we were to establish the specific content in a practical setting. Regardless,

the Kratos

and Kratos R both have a 4kWh battery capacity, and the manufacturer says they can go 120 km in real-world conditions on a single charge.

Ergonomics & Handling

The

Kratos R

is impressive in terms of handling and riding quality. The riding experience is relatively supple, and the rider won't experience any uneasiness or crudeness from the suspension as it passes over cracked pavement and ruts. The Tork Kratos maintains its cool under pressure and stays true to its athletic exterior around a bend. The MRF tires, made more for everyday use than for athletic activities, are the only dubious parts. Though it's not built for such riding, we'd gamble that the Kratos offers even more excellent dynamics and the ability to go further with a more robust set of tires.

Price

The prices of the two electric bike models, the Kratos and Kratos R are Rs. 1.08 lakh and Rs. 1.23 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom), and include FAME II and state incentives. Customers who choose the upper edge Kratos R benefit from unrestricted access to the charging infrastructure built by Tork throughout the different locations for twenty months, in addition to the advantage of these benefits.
